Before going into the Wildlands, the Ghosts – a squad of elite US Special Forces operators tasked with the most dangerous, toughest missions out there – first had to come together as a team. With the Ghosts facing dangerous separatists and uncertain allies in the Venezuelan jungle, this novel sets the stage for the upcoming blockbuster videogame Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands. Because there’s always a first mission.

At the tip of the spear of the US Army’s unconventional warfare response forces stands a group of highly specialized and incredibly skilled Special Forces soldiers: the Ghosts. This reconnaissance and direct action unit is made up of the absolute best of the best of the US military. They are the first unit deployed into dangerous situations. They are the last ones to leave when things get rough. And if they do their job right, no one ever knows they were there. When a group of renegade Venezuelan soldiers seize control of the no-man’s land near the Colombian border, the Ghosts are tapped to get the US citizens being held hostage there out safely.

But with two new squadmates, team lead Nomad finds himself going in-country with a couple of wild cards. Still, time’s running out and the mission can’t wait.

The team battles its way through the separatists to rescue the hostages. Tensions soon arises within the group, with the new recruits` actions putting the mission at risk. If the hostages – and the Ghosts – are going to make it out in one piece, they’re going to have to think and act as one. Being a Ghost is a team effort.

Alone, they are great. Together, they are unbeatable. And when a sudden betrayal strikes deep in enemy territory, they must stand together – or die fighting.
