杜蘿茜·斯特里克蘭特,在美國紐瓦克州立學院獲學士學位,在紐約大學獲碩士和博士學位。曾任哥倫比亞大學教師學院教育學教授、新澤西州立大學Rutgers分校閱讀和教授、Rutgers大學教育學講座教授、Rutgers大學教育學美國早期教育研究院高級研究員。曾任美國國際英語閱讀學會會長,並曾任多家專業雜志和學術團體的主編、編委和顧問,如學識公司、韋伯斯特新世紀詞典和國際閱讀學會等。斯特里克蘭還曾參加卡特總統精神健康委員會、美國派往中國的閱讀教學調查小組和編制幼童閱讀困難防治的報告。在國內則擔任過30多個學區和州的教育部門的顧問。
