Introduction
Purpose of this Project

Money laundering， the lifeline of international organized crimes， has posed a great threat to the international community． Money laundering undermines the integrity of financial institutions． Money 1aundering facilitates underlying crimes by allowing criminal funds to be reinvested． Money laundering has a corrosive influence on economic development and political stability． As it does serious harm to the society，the research on how we can set up a comprehensive system to effectively control this problem is of Vital importance．It has been noted that much response has been made at the international level during the last two decades． This book aims to look through the various efforts in combating money laundering，to find out how the measures against money 1ailnderingare getting from strength to strength and what are the Currently international standards，which can be followed by individual countries．

Due to the short history of legal system in China and the backward economic babe for a long time，the fight against money laundering in China is just at the initial stage．Money laundering crime was first provided under the“Decision on Suppressing Drug Dealing ”in 1990 ． Afterwards，it was formulated under the 1997 Amendments to the Chinese Criminal Code． However，these articles haven’t been invoked yet．That is to say，no one has been prosecuted for money laundering in China．

Besides，Chinese preventive measures against money laundering didn’t emerge all along until January 2003，when three administrative rules were adopted． However，experience shows that it is easier to pass anti-money laundering policies，while iti8 much more difficult to implement them． Established laws and regulations are short-lived if they are not applied in practice．Therefore，China just has taken the first step……
