本書作者克里斯蒂安‧諾德(Christaine Nord)是德國功能學派第二代的代表人物。她生于1943年,1967年畢業于海德堡大學,主修西班牙語和英語,1983年在海德堡大學獲博士學位,1993年獲維也納大學頒發的應用翻譯學與翻譯教學資格證書。她曾先後在多所大學任教;曾獲德國學術交流服務基金到印度、印尼、泰國、阿根廷、巴西、古巴和越南等國家做短期訪問教授,到過西班牙、丹麥、芬蘭、比利時和其他歐洲國家講學;曾任或現任多種學術刊物的編委或顧問。
