內容簡介

是根據藏劇、京劇相結合的劇作《文成公主》編譯而成的一部英文著作，是「中國戲曲海外外傳播工程叢書」中非常重要的一部劇作。《文成公主》首先介紹了「文成公主進藏」這一廣為流傳的故事的原型，着重評析了這部劇「和親式」創作手法和舞台表演形式，最后特別介紹了藏劇這種戲曲藝術。

末尾另附藏劇、京劇《文成公主》的腳本。可謂是一部及文化普及、戲曲研究及傳統文化宣傳於一體的著作，將有助於中外讀者了解中國傳統文化、地方文化，尤其是戲曲文化。

楊孝明教授1977年畢業於西安外國語大學，獲學士學位，留校任教。1984年赴英國學習，並於1985年和1991年先后獲得英語諾丁漢大學語言學碩士和美國俄亥俄州鮑陵格林州立大學英語博士學位，現為美國新澤西海洋學院終身教授，美國”現代語言協會”和”全美英語教師聯合會”永久會員。
