　　Stanley Yelnats is under a curse.

路易斯．薩奇爾  (Louis Sachar)

　　路易斯薩奇爾生於紐約的East Meadow。他於九歲時遷往南加州，現在則定居於德克薩斯州的奧斯汀。路易斯念法律學院，並且在閒暇時間寫兒童書。儘管路易斯獲得法律學位，他仍然決定捨律師當專職的兒童書作家。路易斯有一位名叫卡拉的妻子與名叫雪莉的女兒。路易斯喜歡下棋、玩牌、滑雪、彈吉他和大聲唱歌，不過他最喜歡的卻是與卡拉與雪莉在一起消磨時間。
