Probably the most famous and widely read twentieth-century political satire is Animal Farm, an allegoric tale about a group of barnyard animals overthrowing their vicious master only to find themselves oppressed by hypocritical and tyrannical click that has arisen from within their own ranks. With obvious references to Marxist doctrines and their interpretation within the Soviet Union, Animal Farm exposes the deceit of modern political formulas, rhetoric, and policies.
