達芬．杜．莫里哀（1907-1989）

　　英國小說家、傳記作家和劇作家，擅長描寫富浪漫及懸疑的小說。出生於英國藝術氣息濃厚的家族，因視力障礙之故，而選擇從事文學創作的工作。因她長期受藝術的薰陶，所以在文學的表現上更活潑生動；她的作品受莫泊桑影響甚鉅，崇尚恬淡的田園生活，毫不戀棧奢華的享受，故能以清新之筆，浪漫之情完成此書，亦造就了她不朽的文學地位。其作品包括：Jamaica Inn 《牙買加小旅館》、Rebecca《蝴蝶夢》、Frenchman's Creek、The Parasites、My Cousin Rachel 等。
