The late Dutch professor Dr. Pieter Johannes Sijpesteijn was a specialist in Greek papyrology who had a personal predilection for the publication of previously unedited texts in as many fields
as possible, believing that greater accessibility would further research in all fields of Classical antiquity. Published in memoriam, this volume shares that perspective and presents the
translations of 61 papyri and papyri fragments from Greek and Roman Egypt. Only about a third of the contributions are in English, with the rest being in French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
