Like other reference sets from this publisher, this 11-volume set offers information in an easy-to-digest format, for school-age students (perhaps third through sixth grade, or so). The
advantage of the unintimidating slim volumes (of about 40 to 60 pages) is that small hands can pick them up; the disadvantage is that they don't invite browsing as bigger volumes do, and the
format would seem juvenile to sixth graders who might otherwise appreciate the content. Entries pertaining to the various peoples and cultures of Africa are arranged alphabetically; each
