Derived from a conference of the same name (its date and location are not noted) the 41 papers of this volume consider the history and production of manuscripts produced in Europe through the 15th century. Though the ＂recycling＂ of the subtitle promises pages torn from one manuscript and pasted into another, in fact most of the examples here are more subtle in their display of reuse, taking the form of borrowed motifs, content, and style from distant and sometimes unexpected sources.
