　　Regarded by many as Hungary's greatest twentieth-century poet, Atilla Joszef was born in 1905 in Budapest and published numerous collections throughout his life. He died, of suicide, under the wheels of a train in 1937. Translated by Michael Castro and Gabor G. Gyukics.
