內容簡介

Now a headteacher in High Wycombe, Jones studied modern Hispanic language and literature at Warwick University, where Ortiz-Carboneres teaches language and translates. They team up to present a new English translation of Lorca's 1936 play that considers recent critical analysis of the play to craft language that most accurately portrays the right meaning and true sense of the Spanish original, which is provided on facing pages. The play is set in a rural part of Spain, and, in true Lorca style, challenges both liberals and conservatives with its deviation from convention. An introduction is contributed by Eric Southworth (Spanish, Oxford U.). Distributed in North America by The David Brown Book Co. Annotation 穢2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
