內容簡介

Following in the wake of the increased prominence of microfinancing, this book promotes the idea of "microfranchising" as a new and innovative poverty alleviation tool. The editors (all of Brigham Young U.) present 13 chapters that describe microfranchising theory and examine microfranchising in practice. Theoretical contributions discuss core microfranchising issues, relationships between microfranchising and the informal sector, microfranchising and microcredit, and the role of multinational corporations. Later chapters discuss the variety of microfranchise business models from the developed and developing worlds and provide in-depth case studies of four microfranchises: Honey Care Africa, HealthStores, Vodacom, and Scojo.
