Hansen and Fettah present an Arabic reader designed to help students of Arabic develop different kinds of reading competencies. The text contains Arabic reading material at beginning,
intermediate, and advanced levels and includes different genres--short stories, concise descriptions of regions and countries, and a few letters--to give the reader insight into a varied
selection of written styles. Also included is a list of links to Arabic language internet sites for additional authentic texts. The text presumes at least a basic knowledge of the Arabic
language and writing system as the selections are not translated into English and there is no Arabic- English glossary at the back of the book. The authors' credentials are not stated.
