內容簡介

Wealthy German manufacturer Robert Bosch (1861-1942) saw the opening of the Struttgart hospital in 1940, the first to bear his name, but more importantly, to incorporate his vision of what a hospital should be. He was particularly concerned with building hospitals designed carefully for their beauty, their functionality, and their promotion of the well being of patients. Architecture critic Sack provides an essay (presented in both German and English) describing the context, conception, and construction of the Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus in Struttgart, Germany. Following are photos by designer/photographer Weiss, well-displayed in the volume's oversize format (11x12"), documenting rooms and features and interior and exterior spaces.
