內容簡介

The rationale for the anthology is that much of British Romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelley's (1792-1822) work was stripped away when he was posthumously ushered into the canon of English literature. Literary scholars examine some of the poetry and prose that did not amuse the Victorians who first lionized him, particularly anything with a whiff of radical politics. The topics include the 1813 volume of minor poems, the necessity of fairytale in Queen Mab, Shelleyan inspiration and the sister arts, communicative strategies of his prefaces, Shelley as translator and prose poet emulating Plato, Swellfoot the Tyrant, and his late fragmentary plays.
