The poetry and prose of Belfast writer Carson are explored by scholars of literature. They consider the whole body of his work from his first publication during the 1970s to recently completed
titles. The topics include language and the prosodic line in his poetry, space and surveillance in The Irish for No and Belfast Confetti, his virtual realities, the influence of Irish and the
oral tradition on his language, alphabets and labyrinths in Fishing for Amber, and acoustic perfume. Seven of the 13 essays originated as papers for a 2002 international symposium at the
University of Ulster. Carson discusses his early life and background in an email interview conducted between December 2007 and April 2008. Distributed in the US by ISBS. Annotation 穢2009 Book
