British classicist Maclennan presents a Latin edition of the first section of the epic poem. His model is Mynors' 1969 edition for Oxford Classical Texts, to which he adds much more punctuation to help clarify the meaning, and regularizes some of the forms. His substantial introduction discusses such matters as the Aeneid and Roman history, Virgil's life and writings, his predecessors, a summary of the poem, the Aeneid after Virgil, and metre and language.
