E-government refers to government's use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) to exchange information and services with citizens, businesses, employees, and civil societies. This
collection of work from 20 countries describes research, strategies, and cases for developing e-government systems at the local, national, regional, and global levels; it explores technical,
planning, regulatory, financial, and managerial issues. Tools and techniques such as streaming media technology and collaborative learning are described. Applications and services discussed
include knowledge management for e-government, e-democracy conceptual models, virtual communities, and social networks. Case studies reveal the diversity of e-government projects, such as the
EU project SemanticGov, and lessons learned during the e-Fez Project in Morocco. The book will be valuable to governments, researchers, academics, and development partners seeking to implement
collaborative policy initiatives among the private, public, and non-profit sectors. Rahman is affiliated with the Institute of Computer Management and Science, and teaches at Bangabandhu Sheikh
