The Book of the Maidservant

In an historical adventure inspired by the first autobiography written in English,The Book of Margery Kempe, servant girl Johanna is forced to travel with Dame Margery Kempe on her pilgrimage to Rome; but when the Dame's disagreeable behavior causes the party to separate, Johanna is abandoned in a foreign land, far from the only home she has ever known.
