Forty-six mental health and legal academics and practitioners contribute 33 chapters to a text for psychiatrists, social workers, and other mental health clinicians, as well as attorneys and
judges. The text expands on its 2002 predecessor volume Principles and Practice of Child and Adolescent Forensic Psychiatry, incorporating new content areas that have developed in the past
seven years in the theory and practice of forensic psychiatry, psychology, and social work. The text has been revised throughout, and many of the original chapters have been rewritten by new
authors. Basic issues continue to be covered, including forensic evaluations; testifying; psychological screening; the interviewing of children for suspected sexual abuse; child custody;
juvenile law; and nontraditional parenting and adoption. Also included are new chapters on special education, cultural competence, youth violence, psychiatric malpractice and professional
liability, and psychological autopsy, and a newly written chapter on the Internet. Annotation 穢2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
