內容簡介

This book is an exploration of all things architectural in the cities of Miami and Miami Beach: the built environment, landscape design, urban planning, and more. The area is unusual for a number of reasons. Almost all of the region's construction occurred in the 20th century, and Miami's designers and builder never stopped re-inventing the area's identity. The book provides a wide-ranging overview of the more significant buildings in downtown Miami, Miami Beach, and Coconut Grove. The book will interest a wide audience, from residents and professionals to tourists and architecture buffs. Authors are Shulman (architecture, U. of Miami), Robinson (planning and zoning, city of Fort Lauderdale), and Donnelly (chair, City of Miami Beach Historic Preservation Board).
