It was not an inability of the judges to come to decision that caused the delay of nearly a decade and a half, nor any lagging on the part of the publisher or translator. It is only now that an
American distributor has picked up the publication by Gangemi Editore. The result is to see what the architects of today were thinking about when they were students, when neither climate change
nor oil depletion had progressed so far, and the range of possible solutions had not been so narrowed by theory and experience and by impending urgency. The actual submission of the winning
students and runners up are reproduced, including any original color. The textual elements of the papers are in English, but the editorial material is also in Italian. There is no index.
