Originally published in 1972 this whimsical look into the future predicts what our lives will be like in the current decade. Hoyle is amazingly accurate in some areas, such as telecommuting and computers, or "vision desks." And we can only feel regret in the areas where he is wrong, such as free and clean public global transport and automated kitchens.The period illustrations (for which Michael McDonald apparently posed in a bell-bottom track suit,) enhance the overall 'seventies envisioning the 2000's' effect.
