Cry for the Water Buffalo

A Vietnamese family is pulled apart by the war around them. One son goes to the north, the father is conscripted to help the south, and the remaining little boy, his mother and sisters are caught in the middle. The lives of the father and his two sons are taken in the conflict as their paths come near each other but never quite cross again. When the war ends, the mother and her two daughters are airlifted to the U.S. and a not quite satisfying life. From the other side, a U.S. Army sniper has waited indifferently for his 50th kill and the end of his time in country. Mission completed, he takes a souvenir that eventually connects him to the death of his love's lost brother. Forty years later, this slight flaw in judgement ultimately brings the war and her vengence down upon him in a culminating episode of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
