Using 12 complete session transcripts drawn from beginning therapists' first 10 sessions with a child, Tuber (psychology, City U. of New York/City College) and Caflisch, a doctoral student in
clinical psychology at CUNY, provide beginning psychotherapists with a process-oriented framework for treatment and a guide to their first few sessions with children and adolescents. With
commentary interspersed within the transcripts, sessions are divided among those relating to the creation of a framework for self-reflection, open challenges to that creation, and how a
self-reflective stance by the patient was available so that work focused on broadening the frame. Annotation 穢2011 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
