For the last ten years, Jessica Field has worked mainly with robotics and Artificial Intelligence to create theatrical robot plays where the environment determines the course of the plot. Her
robots react to their surroundings in ways related to their physical limitations as beings. Yet despite the cutting-edge technology, these animated sculptures look more like folk art as they
are constructed of bits and pieces of wood, paper and wire and resemble homemade children's toys. The juxtaposition of high and low technology entertains, intrigues and delights.
