A Life With Roses

Award-winning flower arranger and rose specialist David Ruston, one of the world's most respected rosarians, offers highlights of his life and career, with special reference to the flower arrangements he has made over the years in support of local, national, and international communities and organizations. Starting as a teenager, Ruston extended his father's rose plantings of 500 bushes in Australia's Riverland district to an eventual 50,000 bushes covering 11 hectares, which is now the largest private collection of roses in the southern hemisphere. He provides insight on the world of rose conferences and the world of heritage roses, and gives tips on choosing and using flowers in the home, rustic arrangements in country gardens, garden sculptures, flowers with fruit and vegetables, and winter arrangements.
