H.G. Salsinger (1885-1958), a sports editor for the Detroit News, started reporting on baseball player Ty Cobb's career in 1909, when both men were just 20 years old and their careers were just beginning. This work presents two books by Salsinger: Our Ty, Ty Cobb's Life Story (1924), and Which Was Greatest, Ty Cobb or Babe Ruth? (1951). The books rely on insight from Salsinger's relationship with Cobb as a journalist and as a friend. This book is edited by William R. Cobb, a member of the board of the Ty Cobb Museum in Georgia.
