This 9x11.5" book describes and illustrates American Indian rings from the Southwest states, offering a total of 350 color photos. Covering historical rings (pre-contact-1930), vintage rings
(1930-1979), and the artistic adornment period (1980 to the present), the book looks at traditional and non-traditional designs and materials, and also profiles innovative craftspeople.
Although the book concentrates on work by Navajo and Pueblo artists, it also describes work by other groups including Apache, Northern Cheyenne, and Sonoran Desert peoples. Baxter teaches
