內容簡介

In this volume based on a namesake conference held at the University of Hong Kong in 2008, editors affiliated with UHK introduce the primary focus as being on the relatively-neglected topic of how taxation systems in East Asia should respond to the environmental challenges posed by rising greenhouse gas emissions. In the context of the Kyoto Protocol's establishment of binding targets for reducing such emissions, international contributors discuss "green" tax policies and concerns toward meeting these goals by newly-industrialized East Asian countries, notably China, and developed Western economies including the European Union, Australia, Canada, and the US. Supporting tables and figures include environmentally-related taxes and charges in China, and the growth rate of green vehicles. Annotation 穢2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
