內容簡介

While the project of creating finance consistent with Islamic principles of fairness, equity, and full disclosure is some 50 years old, the literature on the subject remains largely descriptive, according to editors Ariff (Bond U., Australia), Iqbal (King Abdul Aziz U., Saudi Arabia), and Mohamad (INCEIF U., Malaysia). This text is part of an ongoing series motivated by the goal of systematically laying a foundation for Islamic finance scholarship based on standards of modern research in financial economics. It focuses on Islamic debt market (or sukuk) instruments. Fourteen chapters trace the foundational principles of how sukuk securities are designed, rated, and marketed and how they are framed in accordance with the aforementioned Islamic principles. They discuss the fundamental ideas and history of sukuk securities, regulation of sukuk/ markets, and contemporary industry practices in sukuk markets.
