This second edition of a three-volume set on the development of alternative energy resources is intended for students but also will interest readers who wish to know more about the topic and
the science behind the different sources of alternative energy. Traditional existing energy sources also are included to give readers a greater understanding of the benefits and drawbacks of
the variety of types of energy generation. The first volume addresses fossil fuels to give students a perspective for comparing and contrasting traditional with alternative energy sources, and
also addresses biofuel and geothermal energy. The second volume concentrates on solar, hydrogen, and nuclear energy; and the third volume focuses on water and wind energy sources. Other
chapters explore energy efficient tools such as appliances, building materials, vehicles, and other options that could arise in the future. The set also includes chronologies and glossaries.
