The Lady and the Bull Rider

The eight seconds atop a 2000-pound snorting bull anxious to rid itself of its unwelcome rider is the rodeo's most dangerous time period. The rider, after those eight seconds, must escape unscathed or face a fatal goring either by the bull's horns or from a deadly stomping beneath its hooves. Clint McCord, who lives in this world, has no expectations of meeting someone like Doria Miller, the harried wife of an abusive husband. Doria has come to Davie, Florida, along with her best friend Crystal, for a stolen weekend retreat. There is an immediate attraction between the two of them. In spite of her hesitancy, Doria agrees to spend the weekend with him. First, though, she opens up about her abusive husband and her past with an equally abusive father, who, ten years before, drove away her younger brother. She also admits to her fear of leaving her husband to live alone in a world alien to her. But by the time she returns home two things have happened that will change her life forever. First, Doria discovers that her brother Danny has come to Davie as a rodeo participant. Second, with Clint's help, she finds the strength to escape her life.
