卡蜜．嘉西亞、瑪格麗特．史托爾

　　如同書中的艾瑪一樣，卡蜜．嘉西亞非常迷信。她就像其他以南方自豪的女孩，總是親手烤餅乾和派。雖然親戚是美國革命女兒會的會員，不過她從未參加過內戰重演活動。卡蜜在喬治華盛頓大學取得教育碩士的學位。身為老師的她，也是閱讀專家，主持許多兒童和青少年的讀書小組。

　　如同書中的蕾娜一樣，瑪格麗特．史托爾從十五歲開始就因為寫作而麻煩不斷。她撰寫並設計了許多當紅的電玩遊戲，所以她養了兩隻淘氣的米格魯，分別叫薩爾達和卡比。瑪格麗特就讀安默斯特學院和耶魯大學的時候，就深深愛上了美國文學。她在史丹佛大學拿到英文碩士，同時接受詩人喬治．馬克白（George MacBeth）的指導，在諾里奇的東英格蘭大學研究創意寫作。
