Yard Critters: Book 1

A children's picture book collection of short accessible poems explores wild animals often encountered in suburban yards, country landscapes and on city streets, including such animals as the Bear, Raccoon, Turtle, Deer and Robin. Unlike many children's books, there is no central character, but rather a group of animals that convey the underlying message that all critters have a place in nature. Features collage illustrations and words by naturalist Carl Safina and poet Kimiko Hahn.
