After escaping from a juvenile detention facility, 14-year-old Digger breaks his trek at a riverside campground where he recovers from injuries, befriends a young boy and a girl his own age, cares for rescued horses, risks his life to save another and begins to understand that his journey back is not just about getting home, it's about discovering what he's really running from.
