This is a collection of 32 previously published papers--the earliest from 1973, but most from the 21st century--exploring issues of corporate citizenship (i.e., the involvement of corporations
in politics). Together combining theoretical, conceptual, and empirical approaches, the papers are organized into four sections: origins, developing links between citizenship/politics and
business, citizenship and the private corporation at the nation state level, and citizenship and the private corporation at the transnational level. Some examples of specific topics include:
dimensions of corporate power, the corporation in citizenship studies, a Habermasian political conception of corporate responsibility, the political roots of corporate social responsibility,
the corporate person and democratic politics, the law and ethics of "K Street" (a euphemism for American government lobbying firms), and corporate political action with regards to human rights
and climate change. Annotation ©2014 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
