Volume 17 is the 50th volume of the Adams Papers editorial project, which is housed at the Massachusetts Historical Society. The introductory essay sets the stage and lists related digital resources. The initial chapter is a guide to the editorial apparatus and methods (which have not changed since revision in 2007). The papers follow, with annotations, and an appendix lists omitted documents.
