Banking, Monetary Policy and the Political Economy of Financial Regulation: Essays in the Tradition of Jane D’arista

International contributors in economics, development studies, and economic policy analysis use the ideas of Jane D’Arista as a springboard for examining banking, monetary policy, and the political economy of financial regulation. The papers were originally presented at a conference to honor Jane D’Arista in spring 2008, held at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst’s Political Economy Research Institute. Part 1 reviews D’Arista’s career and contribution to the field. Later sections cover federal reserve policy, financial history and institutions, global finance, and theoretical considerations.
