With the aim of deepening students’ understanding of the complexities of globalization, the author presents theoretical, philosophical, and ethical controversies and their practical
implications with regard to multinational corporations. He also intertwines the history of globalization, the good and the bad of capitalism, and the interrelationships between states and
markets. Case studies and industry analyses include internet freedoms (Cisco, Yahoo, and Google in China); big pharmaceuticals and developing countries; and responsible sourcing and offshoring.
