內容簡介

Chi-mewinzha, meaning “long ago,” is a collection of stories transcribed from indigenous elder Dorothy Dora Whipple, Mezinaashiikwe. Whipple, an Ojibwe (Anishinaabe) elder from the Leech Lake Reservation in Minnesota, has worked on many language revitalization projects and created this book with the goal of helping other people learn and retain the Ojibwe language, particularly young people. With that goal in mind, the book is illustrated with black-and-white drawings and features the stories in English on the recto and Ojibwe on the verso. This book is most helpful for the solitary learner, as well as for use in classrooms. Annotation ©2015 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
