Benjamin Zuskin (1899-1952) was an actor and artistic director in the Moscow State Jewish Theater and a member of the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee. He was executed in 1952 with a number of other prominent Soviet Jews. In this historical and political memoir, his daughter, Ala Zuskin Perelman, describes the world she grew up in, behind the scenes of the Moscow State Jewish Theater, and highlights the achievements of Soviet Jews of the period in spite of oppression.
