Jay is a novelist and a screenwriter in his forties. He has everything he could want, but has decided to end everything. Leaving his kids is unbearable, but staying with his wife is to give up on having a life of passion and pleasure. This is a novel about the end of love, the beginning of hate, the troubles of living together, and the compromises we make for love.
