The 43rd Annual Playwrights’ Platform Festival collection of new plays features eight winning shorts included in their Annual Festival of New Plays. Each year in March a Playwrights’ Platform
committee selects a vibrant variety of member scripts to be produced in their annual June showcase. The collection features plays by Patti Cassidy, Charlie Edwin Fisher, Hortense Gerardo,
Lawrence Kessenich, Vicki Meagher, Margie Semilof, George Smart and David Susman, with a foreword by Playwrights’ Platform President, Stefan Lanfer. This selection of comedies and dramas
represents some of the year’s best and brightest works by Boston’s longest-running playwright-run cooperative focused on developing new work for the theatre. Literary managers, producers,
directors, actors, and theatre-goers will find this anthology a valuable resource for individual short plays to produce, material for a full-length production, or as enjoyable reading of new
plays by playwrights honing their craft.
