內容簡介

To explore the embedding of business within the contexts of a family and of a particular country, business scholars created a collaborative initiative comprised of research teams to collect, analyze, and interpret data from a relatively standardized survey within one of five distinct environments: the US, Switzerland/Germany, China, Brazil, and India. Here they summarize the preliminary results. Among their topics are how important socio-emotional wealth is to the orientation, strategies, and performance of family and non-family firms in the US; the antecedents and outcomes of business strategies within privately-held family and non-family small and medium enterprises in China; the impact of socio-emotional wealth on family and non-family firms in developed versus emerging economies; entrepreneuring families in Brazil: the need for support at home and for the business; and the impact of the country on whether entrepreneurship is good for families.
