North Carolina’s Mountains-To-Sea Trail Guide: The High Country - MST Segment 5: Beacon Heights Near Grandfather Mountain to Dev

The Mountains-to-Sea Trail (MST) is exactly what its name implies--a 1,100-mile trail that extends from Clingman’s Dome in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to Jockey’s Ridge on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. About 680 miles of dedicated trails--roughly half the planned length--have been completed to date. A series of connectors on bicycle routes and back roads knit together finished sections to span the state.
