Maly Siri’s Pin-up Art Good Girls / Bad Girls raises two themes:
- On one side, the “Good Girls”: the damsels with soft skin powdering their faces in front of the mirror, the Tahitian girls with enchanting smiles and the brave soldiers... Their charm is due
to their sparkling characters and apparent candour.
- And on the other side, the “Bad Girls”: the rouged vamps with sensuous looks, the spies, the melancholic blues singers and other mis ts... The fact that they are aware of their charms makes
them even more dangerous... This book is a rich and delicious homage inspired by the iconography of the 1930’s to 50’s, a concentrate of pure glamour, with a preface by Chantal
Thomass.
