Matthew Cowart is at the top of his profession as a member of the editorial page staff of a major Miami newspaper, but just when Cowart thinks his days as a crime reporter are behind him, he receives a letter from death row inmate Robert Ferguson, who not only proclaims his innocence, but also reveals the identity of the real murderer.
